What is the Independence Day of Ukraine?

This year we will mark 32 years of Ukraine as a sovereign state and hundreds of years of fighting for freedom. Independence Day is very important to all Ukrainians of the world, as the ongoing war has in mind to erase our country from the map and our national identity from our hearts.

Our national anthem says, "Ukraine's glory and freedom/will have not yet perished", and all Ukrainians are living examples of these ancient words.

Each day brings our community a lot of grief and sorrow as Ukrainian cities are under attack and Ukraine loses the lives of its Sons and Daughters daily.

One might say that now is not the best time to celebrate as the war continues. But it is our way to prove that we are alive, our spirit is strong, and we are working, each in their place, to bring peace to our land.

What is in the programme?

You`ll meet our resilient, diverse, creative, talented, and strong community. You`ll hear Ukrainian music, both traditional and modern. Some of them are well-known, such as Stefaniya Eurovision hit, and some are loved in Ukraine but rarely known abroad there will be many songs born in the last two years.
